Everything you need to get Nempra Measure or Nempra Print running on your own WooCommerce store, in plain steps. Running into something this page doesn’t cover? Check Troubleshooting or email hello@nempra.com.
Before you start
Both plugins need:
- WordPress 6.5 or later
- PHP 7.4 or later
- WooCommerce installed and active — neither plugin will run without it
Already running a different measurement or manual-printing plugin? See the migration notes on the Troubleshooting page before installing — many setups migrate as a safe, drop-in upgrade, but deactivate the old plugin first.
Setting up Nempra Measure
Nempra Measure adds a length/width calculator to a product page, so customers see the exact area and price before they add anything to the cart.
- Install and activate the plugin (Lite or Pro).
- Open the product you want to sell by measurement and edit it.
- Find the Measurement tab in the Product data box.
- Set a minimum and maximum length, a step size (e.g. every 0.5m), and one or more widths you cut or stock.
- Save/update the product — the length/width selector appears automatically on the frontend, matched to your theme.
The area and total price are calculated live as the customer adjusts dimensions, and re-checked on the server at checkout so the price can’t be tampered with in the browser.
Lite covers simple (single-variant) products — free, with no site limit. Pro adds variable products, per-variation measurement overrides, and more advanced min/max and step rules, for stores selling the same product in multiple configurations at different prices.
Setting up Nempra Print
Nempra Print turns WooCommerce orders into packing slips, splits them into pickup and delivery, and — in Pro — tracks them through a full workflow and prints them automatically.
- Install and activate the plugin (Lite or Pro).
- Go to Nempra Print → Settings in the WordPress admin menu.
- Add your store details and branding — logo, colours, footer text and sender address for the A4 packing slip.
- Open the Nempra Print → Orders page to see open orders split into all / pickup / delivery, with search and status filtering. Pickup and delivery are classified purely from the WooCommerce shipping method used on each order.
- Print a single order’s packing slip from the order list, the order edit screen, or the Nempra Print orders page.
Pro adds a management area with tabs for Overview, Automatic printing, Print Station and a Print queue, plus bulk actions, CSV export and workflow tracking (Packed / Shipped / Ready for pickup / Collected). To set up unattended printing:
- Pick an order status (e.g. “Processing”) that should trigger printing — orders reaching it are added to the automatic print queue.
- On any always-on Windows computer connected to your printer, open the Print Station URL in Chrome and enable Chrome’s kiosk-printing mode so slips print without a confirmation dialog.
- Leave that Chrome tab open. It polls the print queue every few seconds, claims the next job, and sends it straight to that computer’s default printer — no PrintNode subscription or print server required.
Upgrading from Lite to Pro
Pro is a separate plugin that reads the same settings and product data as Lite, so upgrading is a drop-in replacement — you don’t need to uninstall Lite’s data first, and there’s no reconfiguration once Pro is active. Just deactivate Lite and activate Pro (running both editions of the same plugin at once isn’t supported — see FAQ).
